Michael Fassbender, Ben Mendelsohn & Kodi Smit-McPhee To Star In Western 'Slow West'
While Michael Fassbender's plan to make a western earlier this year with Lynne Ramsaywas kiboshedwhen that project hit a few rocky patches, leading to the exit of both the director and actor, it looks like the thesp has gotten back on the horse. He's got another gunslinging flick on way, with some interesting folks helping out.
You might not remember, but back in 2011, Fassbender revealed he was developing a movie with ex-Beta Band member turned filmmaker, John Maclean. They had previously collaborated on two shorts — “Man on a Motorcycle” and “Pitch Black Heist” — and now they'll team for a feature, "Slow West." Co-starringKodi Smit-McPhee and the ever present (and always solid) Ben Mendelsohn, there are no plot details on this one just yet, but the plan is for cameras to roll later this year in New Zealand. Support for the movie is already in place from Film 4, DMC Film and the The New Zealand Film Commission. Needless to say, we're eager to see how this all turns out.
But you won't have to wait long for next fix of Fassy. He stars in the upcoming "12 Years A Slave," and we'd guess that after he wraps on "Slow West," he'll get start getting into stealth mode to film "Assassin's Creed," which is due to hit theatres in 2015
